Planning a wedding takes a lot of work and choosing a photographer is one of the small bullet points on your to-do list, but it is an important one. After all that happens on your wedding day, your photos are what will remain and hopefully they were beautifully captured. These photos can be revisited to bring back all of the memories, romance, and the soul of the event. How do you chose someone to take responsibility of this?

Find Someone That Has A Sound Philosophy

Wedding photography is my favorite form of expression and I feel right at home behind a camera lens. However, there is something that I value even more than creating art – and that is creating meaningful relationships with my couples. You have to put a lot of trust in your wedding photographer and who can you trust more than a friend?

With these friendships, I’m able to tell your story beautifully and authentically. It’s my goal to be able to capture unguarded moments where true emotions are less loose, resulting in more meaningful images that reflect the true you.

Your wedding day will be full of intimate, surprising, and fleeting moments. These moments will ultimately come together into the form of an album, a timeless family heir- loom, ready to be grabbed off the shelf. A brief thumb through instantly brings you back to your special day and emotions will be felt all over again.

So what does all of that mean? I don’t just show up at a wedding after you hire me. I take time to get to know you better, help plan out timelines and important moments, make suggestions for what will photograph best, and ultimately set ourselves up for success. Having all of that taken care of will only make you feel more comfortable in front of the lens on your day. Emotions and reactions will all be more authentic, creating photos that are in a style influenced by you.

Ask To See Full Wedding Albums

I consistently take images throughout an entire wedding day from reception dinner plates to that collection of framed family photographs displayed on a table. These details are what matter and what you spend so much time thinking and planning on. If you want to see some of my work to see just what I capture on a wedding day, please reach out and I can send you the appropriate links to assure you of the quality and expectations for a wedding day.

Choose A Professional

Not all weddings are created equal nor setup for jaw dropping color, lighting, and scenery. From outdoor ceremonies to low-light damp chapels, light is everything and light doesn’t always play nice. Finding someone experienced who has shot plenty of weddings will give you someone who is able to quickly adjust shots and lighting when needed. There are probably one hundred decisions a photographer will need to make on a wedding day and a professional will do the best job thinking on their feet. This paired with timely responses and addressing your needs will give you all assurance that you wedding will be captured beautifully and authentically.

ONE DAY, EVERYTHING CHANGED

I USED TO HATE PHOTOGRAPHING PEOPLE

My photography career started in high school with a darkroom class. When learning, I naturally gravitated towards what inspired me: birds, nature, pretty sunsets, patterns, and anything colorful. However, my teacher challenged me to try taking pictures of people. At the time, I protested and instead chose to do self portraits.

It wasn't until 2017 when I was asked to second shoot a wedding that my opinion changed. On that day, I experienced the joys of what make weddings special. I was invited into an intimate and emotionally full day with guests coming from out of state, generations of families putting on their elevated outfits, the raw tears of a first look, and the love pouring out of the couple and its guests.

Capturing all of this was powerful, rewarding, and energizing. I knew from then on what I wanted to do with my life.
