One of my favorite weddings to date. The weather was perfect, it was halloween, there was a wonderful chill in the air, and the florals. Oh. my. god. the florals. Absolutely perfect! I loved everything about this wedding.  Sam’s love for bluegrass was something that made you want to love bluegrass. You know how you meet someone every now and then that has so much passion for something, that it makes you want to fit it into your lifestyle too?  Sam brought his fiddle along with him to their engagement session and played around with it while they had a picnic, so of course he had to bring it again to their wedding. One of the best moments of the night was when Sam grabbed his violin and joined the band to play a few songs. You could tell Sam was in his element up there. Of course I was jamming out! Jane is such a sweet person and I loved getting to know her throughout their wedding planning process. Her bridal portraits from the middle of the day came out so gorgeous! I wish both of them so much success!

ONE DAY, EVERYTHING CHANGED

I USED TO HATE PHOTOGRAPHING PEOPLE

My photography career started in high school with a darkroom class. When learning, I naturally gravitated towards what inspired me: birds, nature, pretty sunsets, patterns, and anything colorful. However, my teacher challenged me to try taking pictures of people. At the time, I protested and instead chose to do self portraits.

It wasn't until 2017 when I was asked to second shoot a wedding that my opinion changed. On that day, I experienced the joys of what make weddings special. I was invited into an intimate and emotionally full day with guests coming from out of state, generations of families putting on their elevated outfits, the raw tears of a first look, and the love pouring out of the couple and its guests.

Capturing all of this was powerful, rewarding, and energizing. I knew from then on what I wanted to do with my life.
