Breanna & Matt’s Charlotte Wedding

There’s just something about photographing weddings at the Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte, NC that always feels timeless. The day started at a small church surrounded by close friends and family, with the kind of ceremony that felt really personal from start to finish. Quiet moments, happy tears, nervous smiles — all the stuff that actually matters. Breanna lost her grandfather after the wedding, so I am so happy knowing I got some great photos of him with her from this day.
Back at the hotel, we used the grand staircase for portraits before the party really got going. The mood was killer, everyone was riding the high of the ceremony, and the whole place just felt elegant without trying too hard.
Once the dance floor opened up, it stayed packed. People were singing, sweating, laughing, and fully in it all night long — honestly my favorite kind of reception to photograph. A lot of the best moments happen when people stop worrying about the camera completely. Top dance floor of all-time really.
One of my favorite details from the day was the vintage car from Top Hat Rides. It fit the feel of the wedding perfectly and gave us a chance to sneak away for a few portraits before heading back into the party. It was also a great getaway car from the ceremony. I love small touches like this as a wedding photographer.
A really beautiful day with beautiful people from start to finish. Classic, fun, emotional, and full of life.
Hope you like it!
